An unmissable stopover at the foot of the Tower!

The Neoliner Origin, a cargo ship powered mainly by wind, is making a stopover in Marseille on Monday October 6th. This is a unique opportunity for people in Marseille to see this ship, which is paving the way for a new generation of cargo ships.
As a major partner of Neoline, CMA CGM is paving the way with this ship for a new generation of cargo ships capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% on an ocean crossing.
This ship offers cargo capacity and reliability comparable to those of a service operated by a traditional shipping company, while maintaining a competitive economic balance.
Since 2022, the CMA CGM Group's teams have been fully mobilized to validate the technical, regulatory, and commercial feasibility of the project.
The CMA CGM Group's fleet of 650 container ships serves all ports worldwide. Committed to decarbonizing maritime transport, the Group is aiming for Net Zero Carbon by 2050 by exploring innovative technological and energy solutions.
Convinced of the potential of sail propulsion, CMA CGM is reinventing this ancient energy source, which, thanks to technological advances, is now capable of covering up to 90% of a ship's energy needs.
CMA CGM has been a partner of Neoline since 2022 and holds a 37% stake in the company.
The vessel will be assigned to a transatlantic route (Saint-Nazaire - Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon - Halifax - Baltimore), starting in mid-October.
Its rigid sails cover a surface area of 3,000 m2 deployed on 2 carbon masts over 70 meters long.
