CMA SHIPS Romania was established in 2008 as a strategic initiative by CMA SHIPS to create a dedicated branch in Romania, ensuring the direct management and development of Romanian seafarers.
Starting with a small team of 4 employees, 30 seafarers, and 6 vessels, our agency has significantly evolved over the years.
Today, we proudly manage a fleet of 55 vessels and oversee a pool of 900 highly skilled seafarers, with 470 currently on board.
On 21 April, CMA Ships Romania hosted its first annual recruitment session at the Maritime University of Constanta, bringing together students from the Faculties of Navigation, Electromechanics and Electrical Engineering.
The event provided an opportunity for future officers to learn more about life at sea, career development opportunities, vessel operations and the challenges of maritime decarbonization. Students also discovered international programmes offered by the Group, including Erasmus initiatives.
A key highlight of the session was the presentation of CMA CGM’s She Sails programme, showcasing the Group’s commitment to supporting and empowering women in the maritime industry.
Through initiatives like this, CMA Ships Romania reaffirms its dedication to developing the next generation of maritime professionals while promoting diversity and inclusion across its fleet.

I started my adventure with CMA SHIPS in 2004 as 2nd deck officer on the CMA CGM Puccini 5.700 teus. After 3 years of sailing on CMA CGM ships, I chose a career ashore and since 2018 I have been promoted General Manager CMA CGM Romania. Shipping is an extraordinary environment, when you do things with passion, you don't realize how fast the years fly.
